Big Daddy and Giant Haystacks were the defining figures of British wrestling's golden era, their rivalry dominating ITV's World of Sport throughout the 1970s and '80s. The foes actually began as partners - one of the most physically imposing heel tag teams British wrestling had ever seen - before Big Daddy's popularity with crowds made his villanous streak impossible to sustain.

The historic feud between the two would last until the early 1990s. At its peak, their ongoing battle drew up to 20 million viewers on a regular basis, with their legendary 1981 clash at Wembley Arena drawing record-breaking audiences and solidifying both wrestlers' legacies. Where Big Daddy invited sympathy and rallied crowds, Haystacks weaponised intimidation; crushing, grinding, and taunting - making the dynamic between them irresistible.
